Authority I and II are fire and rescue vessels stationed in Belle Chasse, Louisiana at mile 75 Above Head of Passes (AHP) and Venice, Louisiana at approximately mile 10 AHP. These vessels carry 300 gallons of fire fighting foam and respond anywhere in the 100-mile Port district 24 hours a day.

Authority III is a fire and rescue vessel stationed in Belle Chasse, Louisiana at mile 75 AHP. This 90′ vessel is staffed by a crew of three, utilizes 1,000 gallons of fire fighting foam and can respond at a speed of 20 knots 24 hours per day anywhere in the Port district.

Eastport and Westport are two trailer-mounted 30-foot, all-weather, multi-purpose vessels equipped with radar, GPS, and a 575-gallon per minute fire pump. These Port security fire/rescue vessels can operate in 1.5 feet of water, giving the Port access to the marsh areas and lower reaches of the Mississippi River waters with insufficient depth for our larger vessels.
